The Irvine Fine Arts Center announces the opening of Silver, a group photography exhibition that spans throughout the center’s galleries and features works in the realm of photojournalism, documentation, abstraction, surrealism, and more. An opening reception is 4–6 p.m. Saturday, November 23. The exhibition runs through Saturday, January 11, 2020,
Silver features 20 artists who call the Irvine Fine Arts Center Photography Lab a creative home. The title of the exhibition references the light-sensitive materiality of analog photography, the thread that weaves together the various works on view. Ranging in style and subject matter, the photographs in the exhibition are filled with a sense of wonder in the act of capturing fleeting moments on film, and they are transformed through the alchemy of the darkroom.
