Family sues after man dies following police struggle
The family of a man who died after a struggle with police has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Anaheim and Police Chief Jorge Cisneros.
The Orange County Register reports Christopher Eisinger's parents claim the force used by officers pinning him to the floor resulted in his death.
The complaint also alleges assault and battery and negligence. It seeks unspecified damages.
Police said Eisinger appeared under the influence of drugs when they stopped him during an investigation of a possible vehicle break-in last March. Officials said the 35-year-old struggled with officers, tried to grab a stun gun and went into cardiac arrest.
City and police officials didn’t immediately comment on the filing.
