World AIDS Day

Tomorrow, marks the 30th Anniversary of World AIDS Day.

Radiant Health Centers, formerly known as AIDS Services Foundation Orange County, CEO Phil Yaeger says the theme is “know your status:”

Yaeger says anyone who is sexually active should be tested for HIV at least once in their lifetime and those who have multiple partners should get tested more often.

He says the testing procedure is either a swab in the cheek or a finger prick blood test.

Yaeger says those living with HIV may live a long time with available medications and those who are at risk of getting HIV may take a preventative medication known as “PREP.”
