Saddleback Valley Unified School District will offer Full Day Kindergarten

The Saddleback Valley Unified School District will provide Full Day Kindergarten in all of its elementary schools starting in the fall.

District Communications and Administrative Services Director Mark Perez says currently, the program is offered in a handful of elementary schools. And parents had been requesting the program for years. Most schools have two separate groups of Kindergarten classes that meet for two and a half hours.

He says Full Day Kindergarten increases the time for research based instruction on both developmental and social skills.

Perez says the program will be provided at no additional cost to the district because the teachers are already working a full day at their schools.
