Laguna Niguel may support ordinance banning sale of all flavored e-cigarettes

The Laguna Niguel City Council tonight may agree to ask city staff to draft an ordinance banning the sale of all flavored e-cigarette products in the city.

City Manager Patty Letourneau says Mayor John Mark Jennings and Council member Sandy Rains have put the request on the agenda.

She says electronic cigarette usage, also known as “vaping,” has created a public health crisis in Southern California and across the nation.

If the request is granted, staff will present a draft ordinance at a future Council meeting.

Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at seven.
