Saddleback Valley Unified School District will switch to vote by-trustee area
The Saddleback Valley Unified School District is in the process of switching from an “at-large” trustee election system to a “by-trustee” area system.
Tonight it will hold a public hearing on the composition of the potential voting areas.
The District’s website indicates the intent of the proposed system is to offer greater opportunities for Board representation for candidates that might not otherwise be elected under an “at-large” system.
If the transition process moves smoothly, it is possible the “by-trustee” area voting would be held starting with the 2020 general election.
Tonight’s District board meeting begins at six.
