Breast Cancer

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You may be seeing people deliberately wearing pink as a sign of bringing attention to the disease.

More than 360-thousand people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.

Leonard Cancer Institute at Mission Hospital Medical Director and Medical Oncologist Dr. Stuart Nagasawa says the disease can be treated if caught early through examination or mammography, or both.

Breast Surgeon Dr. Marla Anderson says breast cancer can be prevented by having a healthy lifestyle which includes reducing stress, eating properly, exercising and getting plenty of sleep.

Dr. Nagasawa and Dr. Anderson join Medical Oncologist Dr. Ming Li and Women’s Wellness Center Nurse Navigator Susann Burnett on our public affairs show “Collage” which airs this evening at seven. “Collage” may also be heard anytime on-line on www.jazz885.org
