San Juan Capistrano may seek funding to widen Ortega Highway
The San Juan Capistrano City Council tonight may agree to apply for state grant money to pay for the widening of the Ortega Highway from two lanes to four lanes on a short span of the highway.
Council member John Taylor says the less than a mile span on the Ortega Highway where it narrows from four lanes to two, is located past the Hunt Club, near Reata Park.
He says the cost for the widening is at least 70 million dollars.
Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at five.
