Stealth fighter display opens at California's Reagan library
An exhibit displaying the first operational stealth fighter has opened at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. The Los Angeles Daily News reported the F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter was unveiled during the Reagan National Defense Forum at the museum in Simi Valley on Saturday. The stealth fighter joins a permanent display about Reagan's efforts to strengthen national defenses. Officials say the aircraft nicknamed "Unexpected Guest" entered service in May 1984 and flew 78 missions, more than all other F-117s combined. The Nighthawk was designed to evade radar as a sub-sonic aircraft.
