San Juan Capistrano may transfer the City’s Water and Sewer Utility System

The San Juan Capistrano’s City Council is interested in possibly transferring the City’s water and utility operations to a public agency that specializes in the business of providing public water and sewer services.

Councilmember John Taylor says during tonight’s meeting three water districts will make presentations on why it could provide the water and sewer services, the Moulton Niguel Water District, Santa Margarita Water District and the South Coast Water District.

He says he’s looking to make sure San Juan Capistrano residents get the best deal as possible.

He says the Council is being asked to select one of the three districts for further discussion, operational planning and negotiation.

Tonight’s meeting begins at five.
