Southern California doctor charged in wife's 2016 murder
Prosecutors say a prominent Southern California doctor has been charged with murder in the 2016 death of his wife.
The Orange County district attorney's office says 54-year-old Eric Sills from San Clemente was arrested last week and is being held on $1 million bail.
Investigators didn’t say how 45-year-old Susann Sills died or what led up to her husband being charged.
His father, James Sills, tells the Orange County Register the family is shocked by the arrest. James Sills says Susann was co-founder of a Carlsbad fertility clinic where the defendant was medical director.
The newspaper reports Eric Sills practiced fertilization in Europe and the United States and authored several books on the topic.
