Driver pleads guilty in killing of woman, baby granddaughter

Los Angeles County prosecutors say a 48-year-old man has pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular manslaughter for killing a woman and her baby granddaughter in a hit-and-run last October.

Dennis Perez entered his plea yesterday and was sentenced to 12 years and four months in prison.

Fifty-nine-year-old Mei Li was pushing a stroller carrying 18-month-old Paisley Chen across a boulevard in San Gabriel when they were struck by a vehicle driven by Perez, who fled.

The victims died at a hospital.
