Lake Forest may recommend option for El Toro Interchange
The Lake Forest City Council tonight may recommend an option to rebuild the El Toro interchange.
City Sr. Communications Marketing Analyst Jonathan Volzke says Caltrans and the Orange County Transportation Authority are considering two options.
One is the construction of a flyover structure that directly connects the southbound I-5 freeway and joins with the existing Bridger Road. The other option is the construction of a new southbound collector distributor system and new on and off ramps.
Volzke says there have been several public meetings on the options. The Council may make a recommendation on one of them.
The final decision will be made by Caltrans and the OCTA.
Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at seven.
