Robocall crackdown

Robocall crackdown

The Federal Trade Commission is vowing to continue its crackdown on illegal robocalls and the agency is using strong words to support that pledge. One FTC official says the agency won’t “let up for a second in going after these scoundrels.” The FTC has launched what it calls "Operation Call it Quits," aimed at recorded telemarketing calls. In addition to going after the source of the calls, the FTC is urging consumer education and high-tech solutions to block robocalls and fight caller ID spoofing. Officials urge those who get robocalls to hang up, block the number and report it.  Federal Trade Commission site: http://www.ftc.gov
