4 killed when 2 motorcycles collide in Southern California

A head-on collision of two motorcycles has killed four people on an Orange County road.

The crash occurred around 4:30 in the afternoon yesterday on Santiago Canyon Road and emergency responders found two men and two women dead.

California Highway Patrol Officer Florentino Olivero tells the Orange County Register the preliminary investigation indicates a northbound motorcycle with two people aboard attempted to pass a car by entering the southbound lane where it collided with the other motorcycle, which also had two people aboard.

The car didn’t become involved in the crash.

Identities of the dead weren’t immediately released.
