Comprehensive Cancer Institute in South Orange County

Construction is progressing on Mission Hospital’s four-story comprehensive cancer center adjacent to the Shops at Mission Viejo.

The Judi and Bill Leonard Institute for Cancer Prevention, Treatment and Wellness is expected to open in mid-October.

Institute Medical Director Medical Oncologist Dr. Stuart Nagasawa says when it opens, it will provide a coordinated approach for cancer treatment on an out-patient basis in one facility. He says currently, patients must go to different offices for their treatment plans.

Dr. Nagasawa says the Institute will be able to treat 95 percent of all cancers
