Laguna Beach may convert Ocean Avenue to a one-way street
The Laguna Beach City Council tonight may agree to direct staff to proceed with the design and implementation of converting Ocean Avenue to a one-way street from Beach Street to South Coast Highway.
The agenda report indicates converting the street to one-way would provide opportunities for angled parking that would create about ten additional parking spaces. The additional spaces would mitigate the proposed loss of eight spaces from Main Beach that would be associated with the Coast Highway Intersections Improvement Project.
The agenda report also indicates staff would report back to the council with a status update after one year of implementation.
Tonight’s city council meeting begins at six.
