San Juan Capistrano may enter into negotiation to offer affordable senior housing
The San Juan Capistrano City Council tonight may agree to enter into an exclusive negotiation agreement for the potential development of senior affordable housing project.
Councilman John Taylor says the agreement would be with the C&C Development Company for the construction of the Groves Property on the northwest corner of Camino Capistrano and Junipero Serra Road.
He says the company may construct up to 68 affordable units.
He points out the state requires each city to build a certain number of affordable housing units and his city needs to have 638 units.
He’s hopeful the council will allow the Company to chip away at that number.
Tonight’s city council meeting begins at five.
