Capistrano Unified School District
The Capistrano Unified School District in South Orange County encompasses 200 square miles.
Superintendent Kirsten Vital says there are 47,000 students and 4,000 teachers and staff.
She says the district’s theory of action is focusing on teacher collaboration and sharing of practices in a multi-year system of support for students. This allows teachers and site principals to work together to look at diagnostic assessment data to think about each individual student and their needs. And then to provide instruction on what they need in a differentiated way.
Vital is the guest on our public affairs show “Collage,” which airs this evening at seven. “Collage” may also be heard anytime on-line: www.Jazz885.org
