Elite LAPD officers investigated over falsified records
Members of an elite Los Angeles police crime suppression team are under investigation over allegations that they falsified records and wrongly listed innocent people as gang members. Police Chief Michel Moore tells KNX-AM news radio that 10 officers have been assigned to home and others have been taken off patrol. The probe began last year when a mother in the San Fernando Valley reported that her son had been improperly labeled a gang member. The LAPD says an investigation that included looking at police body camera footage found what were termed "inaccuracies" on field interview cards and other records.
