San Juan Capistrano will put out to bid “Putuidem Village” project

The San Juan Capistrano City Council has agreed to put the “Putuidem Village” project out to bid.

Mayor Pro Tem John Taylor says the “Putuidem Village” will be built on a portion of the city’s Northwest Open Space property. And it will be a representative of the Acjachemen village in the past. There will be replica living structures constructed along with a 40 foot amphitheater for story-telling and dancing. There will also be plenty of exhibits.

He says the area will be for the Acjachement and Juaneno people to share their stories of how their ancestors lived on the land.

Taylor says construction is expected to begin in the spring.
