Lake Forest may have affordable housing on El Toro Road

The Lake Forest City Council has agreed to direct city staff to negotiate an agreement with National Community Renaissance to construct 80 affordable housing units.

City Sr. Communications Marketing Analyst Jonathan Volzke says the city will commit nearly four million dollars to National Community Renaissance to construct one, two and three bedroom apartments on El Toro Road and Raymond Way.

He says the four acre site is currently an aging office building.

He says a family of four earning an annual income of $95,000 would qualify for affordable housing.
