Judge to OK $215M settlement for USC gynecologist's patients
A federal judge is likely to approve a $215 million class-action settlement with thousands of former patients of a campus gynecologist at the University of Southern California who has been accused of sexual abuse and misconduct. The Los Angeles Times reports U.S. District Judge Stephen Wilson said he "was inclined to accept" the settlement. Dr. George Tyndall is separately facing criminal charges from the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office regarding 16 patients. He has pleaded not guilty and is out on bond. Tyndall won’t contribute to the settlement, nor will he admit liability or wrongdoing.
